Soar into Eagle Nation!

Get ready to discover Eagle traditions, meet your advisor, register for classes and learn all about life in the CSC family! And it all starts here – at Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR).

What is SOAR?

SOAR is a fun, one-day event for incoming freshmen to help you jumpstart your college experience and introduce you to CSC. You’ll have the chance to connect with our fantastic staff and faculty and get together with our SOAR squad leaders.  You’ll also get to meet your other fellow Eagles who are just as excited as you are to start their college adventures. So prepare yourself for a great experience!

All new first-year students are required to attend a SOAR program. It’s an essential step in helping you determine your fall classes, register, and make that transition to college student.  If you are a new freshman and live more than 400 miles from campus or you have extenuating circumstances, please call our office.

How do I Register for SOAR?

All incoming fall, first-year students will receive an invitation through their email to register for an orientation date.

How to register:

  • Monitor your personal email for your invitation
  • Choose an Orientation date
  • Open the link in the invite and register

What is the Cost to Attend SOAR?

There is a $100 fee that will be added to the student’s fall bill for the student and two guests. This fee covers the cost of all orientation materials, programming costs, refreshments, and meals for both SOAR and Move-In for the student and two guests.

Additional guests over the age of ten (10) will be charged $50 per guest and will also be added to the student’s fall bill.

Are my Parents/Guardians Invited to Attend?

We are pleased your student will be attending CSC and joining the Eagle Family this fall. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend our SOAR and Move-In events with your student. When your student registers for a SOAR event they will have the option to list how many guests will be in attendance.

What do I Bring to SOAR?

We recommend bringing the following items with you:

  • Final high school transcript (if you haven’t already submitted it)
  • Comfortable clothes
  • Walking shoes
  • Refillable water bottle
  • State issued picture ID
  • Smartphone or mobile device
